Thyme Garden Soap
Thyme essential oil has a warm, herbaceous aroma that is both calming and invigorating. It can help soothe tired muscles and promote relaxation after a long day.
- 800g Olive Oil
- 200g Coconut Oil
- 200g Shea Butter
- 140g Sodium Hydroxide (Lye)
- 340ml Distilled Water
- Thyme Essential Oil
## Instructions
Put on safety gear including gloves, goggles, and long sleeves. Ensure proper ventilation.
In a well-ventilated area, carefully mix sodium hydroxide into distilled water. Allow it to cool.
In a double boiler, melt olive oil, coconut oil, and shea butter together until fully liquid.
Once both the lye mixture and oils are around 40-50°C, slowly pour the lye mixture into the oils.
Use a stick blender to blend the mixture until it reaches trace, resembling thin custard.
Add any optional essential oils or fragrance blend, if desired, and mix thoroughly.
Pour the soap batter into molds and cover with a towel or cardboard to insulate.
After 24-48 hours, unmold the soap and cut into bars.
